GoodRx has partnered with Magellan Health, Inc. to provide a website (the “Site”) and mobile application (the “Mobile Application”) allowing consumers to learn about and use their pharmacy benefits.
In order to use the Site and the Mobile Application, consumers must submit certain personally identifiable information in order for GoodRx to confirm their eligibility under their plans. Additionally, GoodRx uses other personally identifiable information, including personal health information, from third parties to enable the consumer to use the Site and the Mobile Application.
GoodRx does not collect any personal information from those who visit the Site and the Mobile Application unless a visitor elects to submit personal information in order to confirm that he or she is eligible to receive pharmacy benefits. The personal information required for the Site and the Mobile Application to confirm eligibility is the following: the member ID associated with the prescription plan, the status of the user in relation to the prescription plan (cardholder, spouse, dependent, etc.) and user's date of birth. Once eligibility has been confirmed, the user must register to use the Site and the Mobile Application to see information about their pharmacy benefits. The additional personal information required to register to use the Site consists of the following: a valid email address, password and email preferences.
In addition to the personal information you provide to help us confirm your eligibility and to register for the Site and the Mobile Application, we receive the following kinds of personal information about you directly from our partner, Magellan Health, Inc.: name, social security number, date of birth, address, prescription history and when and where you fill specific prescriptions. When you register to use the Site and the Mobile Application, you give your consent for us to receive and use that information for the purposes to providing the tools on the Site and Mobile Application.
When you contact us by email or other communications, we may retain that information in order to respond to your request and improve our services.
When you access the Site and the Mobile Application, our servers automatically record certain information. These logs include information such as the date and time you access the Site and the Mobile Application, the browser you are using, and other common browser information. We will use this log information to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer the Site and the Mobile Application. Your log information also may be used to gather broad demographic information.
When you are using the Site and the Mobile Application, you can enter a location or explicitly allow GoodRx access to your location. GoodRx collects and stores that information.
The Site and the Mobile Application has implemented Google Analytics Demographics and Interest reporting. This tool enables us to view demographic and other information aggregated from the overall population of the visitors to our site. This does not include any personally identifiable information.
We use the information you submit to confirm your eligibility for pharmacy benefits under your plans. We also use the information you submit, and the information we obtain directly from Magellan Health, Inc. to help you locate the pharmacy benefit information to which you are entitled under your plans.
We use the information we receive from Magellan Health, Inc. in order to provide you with the tools you access via the Site and Mobile Application. Most notably, we use your prescription history and contact information in order to discover and communicate to you ways for you to save money on your prescriptions.
We use location information, the drug information you view while on the Site and the Mobile Application, the referrer information and, if you are a registered user of the Site and the Mobile Application, your account information in order to provide you with better, faster service, particularly for recurring visits.
We share your personally identifiable information with Magellan Health, Inc.. While most of your personally identifiable information that we access originates from Magellan Health, Inc., there may be some pieces of information you give us directly that we may then share with Magellan Health, Inc., such as your email address. Our Partner has their own privacy policies that govern their uses of your information.
You may request that we transfer your prescription on your behalf. To implement this transfer, we share your name, contact information and prescription information with your new pharmacy. By confirming that we may request this prescription transfer on your behalf, you authorize us to share such information with the new pharmacy you select.
You may request us communicate protected health information (i.e., prescription name) in our emails to you. Our emails are transmitted using industry standard encryption measures. Although the probability is low, you acknowledge that there may be some risk that the information in such emails could be read by a third party (for instance, your employer may have access to your work email account as per your company’s policies). You can change your email preferences at any time.
GoodRx exercises no control over the use of your personal information by third parties; and GoodRx disclaims any responsibility for such use those third parties.
GoodRx may also disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or if we have a good faith belief that disclosure is necessary to comply with the law or with legal process served on us.
Other than as described above, when we share information with third parties related to our services, we will give them aggregate information only. We never sell your personally identifiable information, including personal health information.
As we develop our business, we may buy or sell assets, and, depending upon the transaction, your personally identifiable information may be one of the transferred assets. In the event that we are acquired by another company, your personal information may be part of the assets transferred to the acquiring party.
We will retain the information we collect from you in our system indefinitely. If you would like information deleted, you may request deletion via the “Contact Us” form available on the Site and Mobile Application or by contacting benefits@GoodRx.com.
If you notice that any of the information we have about you is in error, you may request corrections by contacting us via the “Contact Us” form available on the Site and Mobile Application or at benefits@GoodRx.com.
If you do not want us to use your personally identifiable information, you may request deletion of your account via the “Contact Us” form available on the Site and Mobile Application or by contacting benefits@GoodRx.com.
We will use emails to communicate with you and facilitate your use of the Site and the Mobile Application. For users who grant us permission, our emails contain personal health information (i.e., prescription names).
If you would like to discontinue such emails, to change your preferences regarding personal health information in emails, you may change your email preferences, including whether personal health information is contained in your emails, by visiting the “Settings” section on the Site.
If you would like us to communicate with you using an alternative means other than email, you may make this request via the “Contact Us” form available on the Site and Mobile Application or by contacting benefits@GoodRx.com.
The Site and the Mobile Application is not directed to children under the age of 13. We assume our website is used by adults or minors supervised by a parent or guardian. We respect the privacy of parents and children and are committed to complying with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”). On those areas of the Site and the Mobile Application that ask for age, we do not collect personal information from individuals who identify themselves as under the age of 13 except in those limited circumstances where we believe that such collection is permitted under COPPA.
To help users manage the prescriptions of their dependents, the Site and the Mobile Application may include the personal health information, including prescription information, for your dependents under the age of 13. This information comes from Magellan Health, Inc. and is not collected directly from individuals who identify themselves under the age of 13.
We may ask prospective users to provide their age during the registration process and on other areas of the Site and the Mobile Application. If a user indicates that he or she is under the age of 13, then all personal data collected during the registration process is automatically deleted except that we may retain and use limited information, such as the child's email address, for a limited period of time, in those cases where we believe that the collection and use of such information is permitted under COPPA.
If a parent believes that his or her child has provided us with personal information, he or she can contact us via email or postal mail as listed below. We will promptly delete the information upon learning that it relates to a child under the age of 13.
We believe that parents should supervise their children's online activities and consider using parental control tools available from online services and software manufacturers that help provide a kid-friendly online environment. These tools can also prevent children from otherwise disclosing online their name, address and other personal information without parental permission.
We work hard to protect our users from unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of information we hold. We maintain industry standard security measures to protect sensitive data. All cookies are encrypted. We communicate emails using industry standard security encryption measures. If you register to establish an account or to receive price alerts, your password is also encrypted. Although we will exercise reasonable care in providing secure transmission of information between your computer and our servers, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information transmitted to us over the Internet and we accept no liability for any unintentional disclosure.
